originally trained in the field of Civil Engineering, but switched majors after National Service and graduated with a degree in multimedia from Middlesex London, UK. His obsession with photography started during his high school geography trip to Mt Bromo in Indonesia & the rest is history. He gradually developed a passion for shooting black & white negatives & made the transition likewise into digital, believing in the mantra: “That practice, over time, become one’s nature.”
It was after a trip to Canada in 2006, that Jonathan discovered his love for shooting landscapes, a defining change in his career. In 2009, with the challenge to go forth & be creative, he quit his full time job as a senior photographer & travelled halfway across the world from Singapore to America for more than a year and lived out of his car, while driving to different States and National Parks. Bearing a simple vision in mind, to capture the landscapes through his eyes. During his stay in America, he honed his craft and set out to establish a position in the world of Fine Art Photography.
Being on assignment for the past few years has brought forth opportunities to explore different parts of Asia, Australia and Europe to capture each country’s inherent landscape. His drive to shoot is fueled by the promise of what every image he creates will mean to each person who views his work. Aiding to silently whisper with unspoken words, what each image is miming to its audience.
